Coventicola, Roma
Ciao everybody. Come va?
Today, on a Zoom call with producers in three countries, I unveiled the Music Plan for our new film, including a personal introduction of the Italian and American members of the music team. I am the lead music producer.
For weeks, this plan was politely questioned, as was its spot in the budget. Why on Earth, how on Earth, are you planning to combine all of these elements, I was asked by my pals, and why bother on this movie? Aren’t you going to blow up the budget? Make things really complicated?
Nope. You’ll see.
Today, after going through the plan for the music and explaining how the three-nation concept all works, I raised the curtain on 2/3 of the Roma Hollywood music team, the Italians and Americans.
It was shock and awe.
I did not spend 5 weeks and successfully assemble composers and songwriters for a $2m movie. As is turned out, none of them are at that level.
Point of fact, I assembled professional composers and songwriters for a $100m Hollywood blockbuster. THAT is their level of experience, and none of them give a f*ck about the music budget — because we couldn’t afford any one of them in a million years for this project anyway. They understand the Roma Hollywood mission, thev’ve joined the team, and we’re hyping on our wacky horror/comedy script. Next, we will add the Japanese contingency to complete the music trilogy, and we’re going to make some noise, including forming an orchestra in Rome. Stay tuned.
