Music Lawyer Flashback - True to Form

Representing the Bay Area Metal Scene

I started my legal career as a music attorney in San Francisco. I don’t listen to a ton of metal music, but as fate would have it, I ended up representing a ton of Bay Area metal bands.

This is True to Form from San Jose, one of my personal favorites.

True to Form was awesome, they played intense relentless music and their fans would go absolutely berserk. This was an amazing learning experience, as I didn't know a lot about the metal scene going in. I met some really great people.

Most of the metal bands didn’t have a ton of contracts for a lawyer to review, per se, but we became friends as well as colleagues, and I even dabbled in the realm of music artist management for a time — which is not a journey for the faint of heart.
