Many websites offer "free" music cues for placement in a motion picture or other audio-visual project. Which is a fine business model, given music performance royalties etc.
But Buyer Beware - Just because a website says the music is clear does not make it so -- nor does that cool marketing hype say anything whatsoever about the music license agreement you are entering into via your mouse, but probably will never read.
Once upon a time ...I had to deliver the bad news to a financier that nearly 20 music cues that someone put into their movie were based upon an online so-called "artist-friendly" license agreement .... an agreement that literally made no sense, nor did it clearly grant the rights -- nor did it contain any legal protections for the producer or film whatsoever.
BE CAREFUL.
